Spring has finally sprung - it's my favorite season. I love the warmer temperatures after the long chilly winter, the flowers blooming, trees and grass turning green, and the amazing smell of the spring rain. It just can't be beat. Well, that is unless you have spring allergies!

Some of the first remedies to consider are discussed in this short 2 1/2 minute video.

Lets take a little closer look at the remedies mentioned.

Apis mellifaca: this can relieve nasal congestion with stinging pain and may feel better with cold air.

Galphimia glauca: good for relieve of spasmodic sneezing from hay fever.

Histaminum hydrochloricum: if you are wanting to be less groggy and stop using Benadryl, then you might consider this for relieving allergy and hay fever symptoms such as runny nose and sneezing.

Hydrastis canadensis: consider if mucus is yellow or even white along with being thick, tough and stringy.

You may also want to have these additional remedies on hand . . .

Natrum muriaticum is good for loss of taste and smell. Other symptoms may include nasal discharge like raw egg whites, sneezing, the nose may be plugged, chapped lips and crack in the corners of the mouth, and eyes may be watery especially when going outside when it is windy.

Pulsatilla is most often considered for children that are clingy and whiney, but is also a valuable medicine for adults. The symptoms can be hay fever in any season, watery discharge which runs freely from the nose, itchy-watery eyes that feel better from cold applications, but worse when overheated by the sun or anything hot.

Wyethia is notably for those who suffer from an extremely itchy palate in the mouth. The itching can extend to the ears. The mouth and throat may feel extra dry. These symptoms cause the sufferer to click or try to clear the throat to get relief.

Oh my goodness, this is a long list! And there are actually many more

possibilities.

In most cases, taking a potency of 30C in the above mentioned remedies is a good choice. If the symptoms are more severe take the remedy every hour, then as symptoms improve space the doses farther and farther apart and then stop taking when the symptoms are much improved.

If symptoms are not initially intense then starting at 2-3 times a day is probably adequate. On-the-other-hand, if there has been absolutely no improvement after 4 doses, it is time to go on to another remedy.

If you?re not sure where to start you may want to consider AllergyCalm® Tablets which are often sold at your local drug store and even many grocery stores that sell health aids. Go ahead and follow the directions on the box.

Having these medicines on hand offers you peace of mind knowing that when the need arises you are prepared. A real plus in using these gentle medicines is that they are inexpensive and safe and do not have troubling side effects.
